A look at Senator Keith Murphy's record — and who it really serves.

An out-of-state agenda,
16 years in the making.

Keith Murphy moved to New Hampshire for the Free State Project and has spent over a decade in Concord. Here's the record he's built — on your schools, your rights, your health care, and your wallet.

On data centers & your bills

Big Tech's Best Friend

Sided with the data centers over our communities.

When the legislature took up rules for massive data centers — the kind that strain the power grid, drive up electric bills, and guzzle water around the clock — Murphy voted for the amendment that gutted the bill's protections. Its own sponsor said Republicans had stripped it down to "a shell."

That leaves Granite State communities with little say over the noise, water strain, and higher energy costs these facilities bring.

ON your Freedoms

Extreme on abortion.

Called abortion "tantamount to infanticide"

Murphy has authored multiple bills to ban abortion in New Hampshire with no exception for rape — HB 578 in 2017 and HB 1680 — and voted against codifying the right to an abortion.

In his own words, he has written that abortion is "tantamount to infanticide."

On your schools & property taxes

Public dollars→private hands

Defunded public schools and shifted the cost to you

On March 27, 2025, Murphy voted for SB 295 on a 16–8 party-line vote, stripping the income cap off the Education Freedom Account voucher program so even the wealthiest families qualify for taxpayer-funded private and charter tuition — accounts worth at least $4,265 per child, up to $9,676 for some.

Draining that money out of public schools pushes the cost onto local property taxpayers. He also voted to cap educator pay.

On His record

Dangerous

And too extreme.

Murphy has compared Democrats to Nazis and pushed baseless claims of voter fraud in New Hampshire.

In 2023 he was criminally charged with assaulting one of his own restaurant employees — a judge later acquitted him — and he responded by attacking the Manchester police who handled the case, accusing them of a political vendetta. The police chief called his accusations "patently false and disrespectful."

On His own Business

Moldy food and expired bisque

His restaurant's inspection record is stomach-turning.

Health inspection records from the Town of Bedford describe the conditions at Murphy's restaurant: lobster bisque two weeks past its expiration date, "discolored" steak six days expired, expired meatloaf and moldy desserts, an employee cutting raw fruit without gloves, and a dishwasher that was failing to sanitize dishes.

Multiple customers have blamed the restaurant for food poisoning — one calling it "the worst case of food poisoning I've had in years" — and reviewers have accused Murphy of advertising a veterans' discount that didn't actually apply to the whole check.
